Jackson's Death -- Demerol OD?

There are reports ... Michael Jackson may have died after getting a Demerol injection.

The Sun is reporting shortly after the injection, Jackson's breathing got "slower and slower until it stopped."

We cannot confirm this story. We can say, however, that after Jackson was badly burned during the filming of a Pepsi commercial, he became addicted to painkillers and ended up at the Betty Ford Clinic. As for the painkillers, there are reports he was given Demerol.

In addition, during the child molestation trial, cops seized syringes and drugs, including Demerol.

Farrah Fawcett Loses Battle with Cancer

After being voted Most Beautiful in 1965 at WB Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, Fawcett starred in commercials for Noxema, Ultra Brite toothpaste, Wella Balsam Shampoo, and even the Mercury Cougar car.

Fawcett broke into the Hollywood scene in 1976 when Aaron Spelling cast her as Jill Monroe, a sexy and smart private investigator on "Charlie's Angels." Although she only appeared on the television show for one season, her popularity spawned a new hair frenzy – every woman in the mid-70s wanted the "Farrah Do" -- and her 1976 sultry "red bathing suit" poster sold more than 8 million copies (and continues to hold the record for poster sales).

Fawcett continued to gain acclaim as an actor and even more as a style and beauty trendsetter. After appearing in dramatic roles and on the stage, Fawcett posed nude for the first time in the December 1995 issue of Playboy – it remained the best-selling issue of the magazine for the 1990s.

Fawcett most recently received her third Emmy in 2003 for per performance in "The Guardian" and chronicled her battle with cancer in the yet-to-be-released documentary, "A Wing and a Prayer." She leaves behind her longtime beau, Ryan O'Neal, and their 24-year-old son, Redmond.

MARIA BELEN CHAPUR: Mark Sanford's Mistress

María Belén Chapur has been identified as Mark Sanford's alleged mistress. Politico links to an Argentinian outlet that identifies the mother-of-two.

The media has been camped out by her apartment building near the Buenos Aires zoo. Maria Belen Chapur is 43 and has the two sons from a previous marriage.

Maria is described by a neighbor as a beautiful brunette who plays tennis, goes jogging, and has large eyes. It was previously, erroneously reported that she worked for an agriculture company.

The NYPost claims to have a Maria Belen Chapur photo, seen down right, and Guanabee has also got the Maria Belen Chapur photo, seen here, and reports it is an authentic screengrab from a news video.

The video shows Chapur in New York City covering the 9/11 attacks as a reporter for Argentine TV station Canal America, reports McClatchy:

This much is known: Chapur worked as a journalist and translator of English for about a year for the Argentine television station Canal America, according to Gabriel Bartos, who was then a producer with Canal America. Bartos said that Chapur went to New York after the 9-11 attacks in 2001 to report for the station.

The King of Pop dominates WORLD'S FRONT PAGES

NEVER before... and if you are reading this, you are part of the statistics of the online frenzy that has captured the world with Michael Jackson's death.

As it dawns on the printing press times in later parts of the world, Michael Jackson dominates the front pages of newspapers like no other in recent times ever has. It's the most shocking death of an entertainment superstar since John Lennon in 1980, with all due respect to the memories of Kurt Cobain, Heath Ledger, Aaliyah and the many other celebrities who died suddenly.

For the first times in their lives, having not been born at the time of the tragic deaths of the assissinated US President John F. Kennedy, to the the overdose of 'The King' Elvis Presley in 1977, and the insane-fan shooting of John Lennon 29 years ago, the death of Jackson at 50 is a first for the IT-MTV generation. As such many are calling Michael Jackson this generation's Elvis Presley or John Lennon.

And in many ways, the Internet age and the IT revolution has changed the face of global mourning.

Within an hour of his death being confirmed, terms related to Jackson filled nine of the top 10 slots on Google Trends, which tracks the most popular search terms in the US. Top of the list was "Michael died", ahead of "michael jackson dead 2009", "michael jackson heart attack", "cardiac arrest" and "michael jackson cardiac arrest".

Other terms in the list included "la times" and "la times michael jackson" as fans sought out updates from the leading newspaper in the star's home town.

On Twitter, the micro-blogging website, tributes to the King Of Pop pushed "RIP Michael Jackson" and similar phrases up to the top of its trending topics. Their rise came at the expense of tweets connected to the Iranian elections, which have dominated Twitter for the past fortnight.

Hundreds of old pictures surfacing, thousands of new IT-related sites popping up, and millions of people from the furthest corners of this planet all somehow being connected with the man who once sang "Heal the World".

Michael Jackson Children and Debbie Rowe (PHOTOS)

Michael Jackson, the 50 year old King of Pop, died yesterday after receiving an injection of Demerol. He is survived by three children, two of them with dermatologist nurse and former wife Debbie Rowe.

Michael Joseph Jackson Jr. was born in 1997. His sister Paris Michael Katherine Jackson arrived in 1998. Jackson divorced their mother in 1999, and she signed over sole custody to Jackson.

A third child Prince Michael Jackson II aka Blanket was born to a surrogate mother, with Jackson as the sperm donor, in 2002.

We are told that right now the three siblings are with Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson. It seems likely that the biological mother of Paris and Prince will attempt to regain custody of the children. With an undisclosed inheritance awaiting the youngsters, one can safely predict that a court battle will be waged that could take years to resolve.

View photos of Debbie Rowe, Michael and the three children in our gallery below. Note that in many cases, the kids faces are obscured by veils and mardi gras type masks.

Dempsey's long road to hero

Clint Dempsey was every inch the American hero on 21 June in Rustenburg, scoring the third in a 3-0 victory that saw the previously winless side skip past Egypt and Italy and into the last four. One of only a few American players getting regular first team action in a top European league, the Texas native, a battler in his bones and one of the most technically gifted in Bob Bradley's side, has upset the odds, overcoming a hard upbringing and a recent wobble in international form.

In an exclusive interview with FIFA.com, the Fulham man hailed his American side's fighting qualities, talked about his special goal and the upcoming semi-final with European champions Spain.

"That goal was something really special for me," Dempsey told FIFA.com about his flying header in the 71st minute in Rustenburg that coupled with Brazil's 3-0 win over Italy sent the Americans through to the semi-finals of a FIFA Confederations Cup for the third time. "I can't say that it was the biggest goal of my international career, but it is definitely a close second. The goal I scored against Ghana in the World Cup [a 2-1 loss] is still the biggest for me. Scoring in a World Cup was always my dream, but the goal here against Egypt is something I will remember with a smile for the rest of my life."

Dreams of stardom were a million miles away from the reality of Dempsey's upbringing. One of five children, he was raised humbly in tiny Nacogdoches, Texas and his parents scraped and scrimped to give young Clint a chance at achieving his dreams. "My dad used to drive me six hours back and forth to practise when I was young. He's a carpenter, and we didn't have a lot of money, so it wasn't always easy." When Clint was named US player of the year in 2007, he gave his prize, a brand-new pick-up truck, to his dad. "His truck was starting to fall apart and I thought he could use it," the English Premier League star said with a half smile.
I can't say that it was the biggest goal of my international career, but it is definitely a close second.
Clint Dempsey on his goal against Egypt

Dempsey, who has scored 14 goals in two seasons with Fulham since leaving MLS outfit New England Revolution, is one of the most skilful players in the American team. He grew up idolising Diego Maradona and admits to habitually watching ‘Hero,' the official film of the 1986 FIFA World Cup™ in Mexico, as a kid. Also, having grown up exposed to footballing influences from Latin America, Dempsey's technique flowered in a distinctly different way than most of his team-mates. "The creative, individual style of the Central and South Americans appealed to me at an early age," Dempsey said in a 2006 interview.

At his core, though, Clint is a fighter. He battles for every ball, never gives up on a lost cause and puts in an honest shift in a USA side renowned more for graft than craft. "I may have scored the winning goal against Egypt, but my team-mates created the opportunity for me to be in the position to get it. Everybody worked so hard to earn us place in the semi-finals."
A lot of people don't believe in this team, we don't get much respect.
Dempsey on perceptions of the USA

It was a happy day for the 26-year-old who had been criticised for giving away possession against Italy, leading to the Azzurri's first goal in a 3-1 win. A similar mistake a few weeks earlier in a FIFA World Cup™ qualifier with Honduras also led directly to a goal. In the win over Egypt here at the Confederations Cup, he was moved off the right flank and given a free role up front. He blossomed in the second half, named Budweiser Man of the Match with his most dynamic performance so far.

Dempsey, who has a burgeoning second career as 'Deuce,' a hip-hop recording artist, admits to being "shocked" by the US's amazing turnaround in fortunes in South Africa. And when asked about the main reason for the revival, he turns emotional, even serious. "A lot of people don't believe in this team, we don't get much respect," he told FIFA.com, visibly moved by the bond with his colleagues. "A lot of guys in this team fight and scratch to get contracts overseas and they grind through it trying to get respect and some playing time. It's not easy. So here, like this, when we're together, we fight together and we all believe we can do big things."

Johnny Depp's waiter blabs $4,000 tip

A waiter at Chicago's Gibsons steakhouse got a nice tip from Johnny Depp the other night, to the tune of $4,000! That's a nice markup from the $1,500 he gave at a Wisconsin restaurant last year

"He had visited our restaurant several times before while he was filming Public Enemies and he promised me that he would return after the premiere," Mohammed A. Sekhani told Radar Online. The actor, along with director Michael Mann and co-star Marion Cotillard among the party of 15, ordered shrimp cocktails and Depp's favorite, Clams Casino -- clams baked with garlic, pepper and cheese.

"He also ordered some $500 bottles of Italian wine and he was in good spirits throughout the evening chatting with Mr. Mann and Miss Cotillard," Sekhani said. "I have worked with a lot of stars like Sean Connery and Robert De Niro, but Johnny Depp is my favorite. He is a very soft spoken guy who is very charming and sweet – when I wait for him he doesn’t like to be too fussed over and is not in any way demanding. "

So once again, we learn that Johnny Depp is actually a very down-to-earth guy -- whose rich and famous and owns a private island and gives $4,000 tips. Not that "Mo" the waiter, as Johnny calls him, is upset by that.

USA beats Spain 2-0

Remember the early demise of Team USA soccer? Well, that seems to have ended for now as the American team has shocked the Spanish by the score of 2-0 and move on to the final of the Confederation Cup. Team USA led by goals from young-gun Jozy Altidore and Clint Dempsey provided the magin of victory.

The Americans will go into the final of the competition which is a tune-up for the World Cup will face world powerhouse Brazil or South Africa. For now, the USA team will become the darlings for at least a day and a half.

You can tell it it a slow news day when USA Soccer is a lead story on this website.

Sanford due back today

Sanford spokesman Joel Sawyer said the governor called chief of staff Scott English on Tuesday morning, and was surprised by the attention.

“It would be fair to say the governor was somewhat taken aback by all of the interest this trip has gotten.,” Sawyer said in a statement.

But there are still unanswered questions about Sanford’s whereabouts, from his exact location on the Appalachian Trail to why the governor, a father of four, would leave town over Father’s Day weekend.

Tuesday afternoon, first lady Jenny Sanford said she still had not heard from the governor.

Also on Tuesday:

Sawyer admitted staffers still did not know the governor’s location. Sanford has been out of touch with staffers and family since leaving his security detail and driving off in a State Law Enforcement Division SUV on Thursday. The vehicle was spotted late Tuesday night at Columbia Metropolitan Airport, according to CNN..

A mobile phone tower picked up his last known location near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Thursday, according to a source familiar with the situation.

Greenville television station WYFF reported Tuesday night that sources had reported seeing Sanford boarding a plane at the airport.

Sawyer insisted the governor was hiking. “It’s wrong,” he said of WYFF’s story.

Sanford’s absence drew national attention, with CNN, MSNBC and others descending on Columbia and front-page stories on the Wall Street Journal.
